Counselor
The first thing I ever read by Hunter Thompson was "Hells
Angels" when I was 12. His words hooked me, I understood this
guy. When 'Fear and Loathing" came out I told everyone I knew
they had to read it. I recently re-read "Kingdom of Fear" and
finished wishing he was still here to "piss down the throats" of
the Nazi's running our country.
Hunters last typed word
was "Counselor". It was alone, centered at the top of the page
in his IBM Selectric. And after he typed it he turned out the
lights.
Hunter left this note: "No More Games. No More
Bombs. No More Walking. No More Fun. No More Swimming. 67. That
is 17 years past 50. 17 more than I needed or wanted. Boring. I
am always bitchy. No Fun – for anybody. 67. You are getting
Greedy. Act your old age. Relax – This won’t hurt."
I
understand Hunter.
